Cool little USB cup warmer

November 15th, 2006

Okay, so a few days ago, perhap about a week at max, I ordered a £3.00 usb cup warmer online.

Today it arrived.

I will up some pics later, after I’ve tried it out and let you know. Im VERY pleased so far though, since it has an on/off button… simple things I guess.

Right, here we go, these are the pics of the Warmer… as you can see its been fairly well tested. The verdict as far is… well, pretty poor.

The design is pretty neat, and its a solid piece of kit, it certainly doesn’t FEEL cheap, It’s lightweight and compact. but after looking on Amazon today I found one for the same price that also has 4 usb ports, so it acts as a hub tool! Amazing! But alas, mine doesnt have all that. Never mind.

It heats up pretty quickly, about 1-2 mins, and its hot enough to the touch that a few seconds touching it would be uncomfortable to say the least, however, it just doesn’t keep my cups (or my drinks) warm. Of course, my thick based ceramic cups and mugs are not the best thing to use, so… in the spirit of trying to make this baby do my bidding, I will look into buying some kind of metal drink containing device, after all, it IS pictured on the box with a metal one.I’ll be sure to let you know how THAT turns out.

I’m still happy with it, £3.00 is nothing compared to the prospect of warm drinks during those long hours of drawing and coding.
