Heroes is AWESOME
December 8th, 2006
After reading many different peoples praises of the show Heroes, including the gents over at Penny Arcade and Ctrl+Alt+Delete, I finally gave in and decided to see for myself what they were tootin’ and hollerin’ about.
Mr. Tim himself from the aforementioned (and widely known) CAD had posted a link to full episodes on NBC’s website, so I figured, why not have a little look-see for myself. (Don’t worry, it’s all legal and above board.)
I have to tell you, I went in blind, I didn’t know much about the show, only that it was popular, and had something to do with Heroes of some sort, or at least I had presumed, and what a way to go in!
Blindness really did make for some truly epic enjoyment on my part, the story was cleverly written, well executed and just awesome, the direction was impeccable, the special effects didn’t look tacky, it was just beautiful. I limited myself to watching 2 full episodes tonight, which is plenty to keep me happy for now, I don’t want to OD on it.
I don’t really know what else to tell you about it, I don’t want to give anything away, I just can’t, that would be cruel. All I can say is this… don’t read up on it, don’t spoil it for yourself, just dive on in and see what you think, if you don’t like it, fine, not your thing, if you do, you’re in fine company my friend.
I wish in some sort of a way, that the X-Men movies were handled more like this, don’t get me wrong, I really did like the films as a whole (aside from some glaring sillyness that was in them, especially TLS) but they did feel a bit immature and dare I say it, TOO comicy…
I know, it sounds absurd, but the X-Men movies really had the potential to be so much more. And this I feel is where Heroes has just excelled.
so, if you haven’t yet seen it, gogo now!
The linkie is right here for you Americans ( possibly some other places, I dont know), just a few lil’ clicks isn’t too hard (unless youve just finished a hardcore 48 hour FPS gaming spree, in which case, shame on you, go have a shower and sleep for a bit, haven’t you heard of RSI?)
Myself, I had to find them… elsewhere…
But I digress, heroes is now on my “Must buy on DVD” list.
Goodnight.

I’ve been watching this show since it start, haven’t missed an episode yet. It’s very good. Although I’m hoping it stays very good. A lot of new shows like this tend to get you all hooked in and then start to suck.
